To BYOD, or really how to BYOD, that is the question...
BYOD refers to Bring Your Own Device. BYOD programs are growing across the nation and Rockland Public Schools has been contemplating how to start one. There are many questions to consider before implementing a BYOD program including:- What curricular objectives are supported and/or enhanced by BYOD?
- What are the classroom management considerations?
- How will we educate students and families on digital citizenship and acceptable use?
- How many students could and would participate in a BYOD program?
- What school devices are available to supplement BYOD?
- Is the school infrastructure (wifi, charging stations, etc.) ready?
